One of the best perks of living in Vancouver is the diversity of food options from different countries we get to experience. Located far down on Robson street, this waffle place serves authentic Belgian waffles topped with specialty ingredients from Belgium. They make everything in house and provide both sweet and savory waffle options.
The rustic and vintage interior dates you back to the 80’s in Belgium. The dim and warm lighting makes the whole atmosphere really cozy and romantic.
After a few rounds of rock-paper-scissors, my two other friends and I finally decided to order the Orange Mousse and Ruldoph waffles. The Rudolph waffle was topped with vanilla ice cream, whip cream and chocolate mousse. There were some raspberries, Belgian white & dark chocolate to add some sweetness and texture to the mousse. The waffle was served hot and crunchy, which went perfectly well with the sweet and smooth mousse on top. I really like how light the waffle was so it didn’t feel like chewing heavy carbs on top of the high calories ice cream and mousse on top.
As for the orange mousse, the dark Belgian chocolate mousse tasted pretty similar to the chocolate mousse on the Rudolph waffle to me. The orange slices made a good combination with the chocolate mousse as they balanced out the sweetness.
Overall, I think this Belgian waffle place is definitely a nice and cozy restaurant to go if you want something warm for dessert in the winter. The sweet and crispy waffles will definitely melt your heart.
